# What is the Rafah crossing?

Rafah is the Gaza–Egypt people crossing. Goods mainly move through Israeli gates such as Kerem Shalom. Both sit on the film’s map.

Rafah is not Kerem Shalom. Rafah is the Egypt gate: people, some aid, politics with Cairo. Israel says Hamas used the Philadelphi side for smuggling for years.
