# What is the Iron Swords war?

Iron Swords is Israel’s name for the war that began on October 7, 2023. Naza: The Real Story is a documentary with soldiers’ accounts of that war.

Swords of Iron — Iron Swords in Hebrew usage — is the IDF name for the war that followed the October 7 attack. Gaza is the main theater. The West Bank (called Judea and Samaria in Israeli usage), Lebanon, and Iran are other areas of the wider conflict.

Israel’s tasks in the war, as the film lists them: defeat Hamas as a fighting force, recover hostages, keep humanitarian aid moving. Senior soldiers speak about all three.

Naza: The Real Story is not a timeline. It consists of rooftop scenes and interviews. Iron Swords is the war those interviews take place in.
